LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The Bellarmine University wrestling team unveiled its 2021-22 schedule with the season beginning on Nov. 7.

The Knights, competing in their second season in Division I, feature seven home meets and nine road meets on the schedule this season.

Bellarmine starts its slate at home with a tri-meet against Indiana (2-6) and SIUE (3-7) on Nov. 7.  Then the Knights hit the road for over a month, starting with the Patriot Duals at George Mason University on Nov. 13.  Bellarmine will face George Mason (0-4), Bucknell (0-3) and Division III Averett (10-1).

"I am really excited about our schedule for the season! We are excited to have seven home dual matches to showcase our program to all our fans and supporters," Knights Coach Ned Shuck said. "The guys have been training hard and are excited for our first home event on Nov. 7."

Non-conference action continues for Bellarmine at the Purdue Duals on Nov. 13, with Duke (0-5), Brown (4-9 in 2019-20) and Northern Illinois (6-3) also participating in West Lafayette, Indiana.  On Dec. 4, the Knights travel to the Cougar Clash Invitational at SIUE, followed by a trip to the Cleveland State Open and home dual with Ohio University (1-8) on Dec. 11.

Bellarmine is back on the home mat Dec. 19 against Appalachian State (7-2) in the Knights' first Southern Conference dual.  The pair of home matches are followed by the Southern Scuffle on Jan. 1-2 at Chattanooga and Mat Mayhem Open on Jan. 6 at the Kentucky Exposition Center.  A road trip on Jan. 9 to Presbyterian (1-6) for a tri-meet with the Blue Hose and Campbell (8-1) represents the Knights' first SoCon duals on the road.

Bellarmine then has the chance to compete in two consecutive conference home duals against Gardner Webb (4-7) on Jan. 16 and Davidson (3-5) on Jan. 21.  A road trip to conference foe VMI (4-5) on Jan. 28 will be followed by the Edinboro Open on Feb. 5 in Pennsylvania.

The Knights' final SoCon duals are at home against The Citadel (4-6) on Feb. 13 and Chattanooga (8-4) on Feb. 18.
