GENEVA, Ohio – Almost 1,000 wrestlers are expected to converge on Spire Institute in a three-day competition, vying to represent the United States in the 2022 United World Wrestling world championships.
Wrestlers will compete in Greco-Roman and men’s freestyle during USA Wrestling’s men’s U23 and U20 world team trials Friday, June 3, through Sunday, June 5.
Wrestlers 18 to 23 years old are hoping to compete at the world championships in Belgrade, Serbia.
The Greater Cleveland Sports Commission says the competition is expected to generate about $1.5 million in economic impact for Northeast Ohio.
Times
• 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, June 3.
• 9:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday, June 4.
• 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Sunday, June 5.
